Are you a highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professional passionate about making a difference in the lives of critically ill patients? Guardian Hospital Meru is seeking dedicated and experienced Critical Care Clinician to join our state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

About the Role

As a Critical Care Clinician at Guardian Hospital Meru, you will be at the forefront of patient care, providing specialized, life-sustaining interventions and comprehensive management for individuals facing acute, life-threatening conditions. You will thrive in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment, working collaboratively within a diverse and expert multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor and interpret vital signs and physiological parameters to guide patient care.
  • Manage advanced life support equipment, including mechanical ventilation and renal replacement therapy.
  • Rapidly diagnose and implement evidence-based treatment protocols for acute medical conditions.
  • Administer and meticulously manage complex medication regimens, ensuring precise dosage adjustments.
  • Assist with or perform critical procedures (e.g., intubation, central line insertion) within your scope of practice.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with intensivists, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists.
  • Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients and their families regarding their condition and care plan.
  • Participate in ethical discussions related to patient care and autonomy.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Higher National Diploma in critical care from a recognized institution. 
  • A Certificate of Registration and a valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers’ Council (or relevant professional body) is essential. 
  • Significant experience in a critical care setting, with demonstrated expertise in critical care or intensive care environments.

  • Superior critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for rapid decision-making under pressure.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • High degree of resilience, empathy, and ability to manage emotionally intense situations.

Work Environment

You will primarily work in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a dynamic setting characterized by high patient acuity and the need for immediate response. This role may involve various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous patient care.
